A home warranty is different from homeowners insurance, nor is it a substitute for homeowners insurance. Homeowners insurance protects major perils such as hail, fires, property crimes and certain types of water damage that could affect the entire construction and/or the homeowner’s personal belongings. A home warranty does not cover these items. Rather, it covers major systems and appliances of the home, such as AC Systems, Plumbing Systems, Pool and Spas, and Appliances.
A home warranty (commonly referred to as a home service contract) is a contract between a homeowner and a home warranty company that provides repairs and replacement services on a home’s major components, such as AC systems, plumbing systems, pool and spas. A home warranty may also cover major appliances such as washers and dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers and range/cooktop/ stove. Most plans have a basic component that offers all homeowners who pay for a plan with certain coverages. Homeowners can also pay for one or more optional components that provide additional coverage.

Home warranty companies have agreements with approved service techs that are screened and insured by the Company. When something that is covered by a home warranty breaks down, the homeowner calls support line at the home warranty company, and the home warranty company will dispatch one of its service professionals to examine the problem. If the Technician determines that the needed repair or replacement is covered by the warranty, he completes the work. The homeowner is only responsible for a small deductible, and any amount beyond your limit. Please Click Here for terms and conditions for all states except CA and VA.
